The Wreck of Hope, with the Friedrich Society
The first (and last) exhibition of the Friedrich Society, a discussion group
set-up to talk about the influence of the great German Romantic Caspar David
Friedrich
The Unfortunate Tourist of Helvellyn and his Faithful Dog
Part of my Residency at the Wordsworth Trust. An exhibition that charted
the development through time of the story of a true event. The catalogue
was short-listed for the Art Newspaper/AXA Catalogue of the Year Award (2003)
THE BOOK SHOW, with Tanya Peixoto
An exhibition that brought together works that address the book as object
and/or metaphor. This was intended to coincide with the publication of my
book Writing on the Wall: Word and Image in Modern Art (Thames
and Hudson/California University Press)
